Opportunity for Local Artists

 

This is a juried competition to solicit designs for an outdoor, family-oriented public art project. Fiberglass cottontails that are 5’ 6” tall will be displayed around the Conejo Valley during 2016.

How to Enter:

·      A non-refundable fee of $20 must accompany entry (see application).

Who May Apply:

Professional, experienced artists whose work will be suitable for public display.

Art Work:

·      Each artist is requested to submit three jpeg images suitable for adaptation to a three dimensional fiberglass sculpture.  

·      The finished rabbit should maintain the integrity of the artist's original art.

·      A three-member jury will select the artists. 

·      Cottontail sponsors may choose a selected artist after viewing their work.

·      Sponsors will have the opportunity to discuss designs with the artists. 

When an artist is chosen:

·      Each artist will be paid a $750 stipend to paint the rabbit.

·      The Conejo Public Art Project will arrange for delivery to and from the artist’s studio at no cost to the artist.
